I understood the vital role the fort played in the American Revolution. I knew that the original wooden fort was gone by the turn of the 19th century, and that what visitors see today is a faithful reconstruction completed in I spent a week at the park back in March of cavity-packing fragile ceramic and glass vessels in preparation for their relocation to the newly constructed Willett Center. I had fond memories of friendly staff and some very cool artifacts; the Gothic-paneled pickle jars were favorites of mine. I knew about Fort Stanwix, but what I did not yet grasp was how loved this park is by locals and distant visitors alike. As March Madness progressed, our Facebook page virtually exploded with likes and comments as hundreds of people logged on to vote for their favorite park in the Northeast Region: Fort Stanwix National Monument. It was truly heartening to witness this outpouring of support, and made me more than a little curious, wondering, what is it about Fort Stanwix?

Some bike parts have a date code cast or stamped into the piece. This clearly is when the component was made and not when the bike was made, but unless the component or bike manufacturer had lots of stock lying around in inventory, the date should be a fairly good indication of the year of the bike. At least it would be the earliest date that the bike could have been made. Of course, all this assumes the bike has the original component. The most likely components to be original are the stem, handlebars, seatpost, and brakes.
On a vintage bike in excellent condition that apparently had a lonely existence in a garage all of the components likely are original. As the wear on a vintage bike increases, the greater the likelihood components are not original, either through replacement of worn parts or through component swaps.
The reels on display were overwhelming. The exhibit included all types of reels from modern production reels to prototypes that were never put into production, to early reels and catalogs. The importance of many of the items on display was overwhelming. Members who were not in attendance missed the opportunity of a lifetime by not attending their convention.
Most in attendance could almost feel the presence of William Shakespeare Jr. The display was awesome.

Share 11k shares For make no mistake. After the failure of Mr Cameron’s renegotiations — and this week’s draft deal shows there’s no other word for it than failure, since it changes nothing of any substance in our relationship with the EU — this is the stark choice facing us in the coming referendum. For months, we have been bombarded with propaganda from one side: In a brilliantly organised campaign, big business leaders, universities, ‘elder statesmen’ and the Civil Service — under the direction of its head, ‘Sir Cover-up’ Jeremy Heywood — have been corralled into making the case that it would be a catastrophe if Britain left the EU.
Meanwhile, the Conservative Party has thrown off all pretence of impartiality, proselytising for the EU in defiance of most of its rank-and-file members, who have grave doubts about Brussels.

Themes in previous years have included magic, science, and sport. It’s estimated that some 2, performers and artists from across the region help to bring the event to life. The public spectacle is produced by Walk the Plank, an outdoor events company, who partner with artists and craftspeople from across the country to help them achieve their dreams – even when that dream is to build a giant head on wheels.
Getting there Manchester Day is really focusing on environmental issues this year, so organisers are encouraging all visitors to use green methods of transport. Most tram stops in the city centre zone will get you close to the action – aim for Victoria, Deansgate-Castlefield, St Peter’s Square, or Exchange Square to land yourself as close as possible to the parade route. Metrolink services will be suspended through Exchange Square between If you’re coming by train, there are a number of train stations in easy walking distance of the parade route – Salford Central, Victoria, Piccadilly, Oxford Road, and Deansgate are central enough.
Jon Parker Lee If you are planning to drive, bear in mind that there will be a lot of road closures in the city centre, and heavy congestion is expected on the ring road.
